Summary
BOFFFFs, are known to be big, old, fat, fecund, female fish, that have large roles in society and are often great attractions to many anglers and fisheries. The problem is that the BOFFFFs is huge and so the bigger the fish, the bigger the paycheck these people will get. Then a chain reaction occurs where many fisherman all gather in one spot to target specifically the largest fish of them all and competition starts to build up as everyone wants to catch it. Not only that but the BOFFFFs are females and they produce way more eggs than smaller fish because of their size. If these are hunted down consistently and savagely, there will be a decrease in its population and more issues to come. This type of fish has very unique characteristics as they are physically bigger to hold more eggs, make bigger eggs, and are older and wiser to spawn their eggs in different locations for over longer periods of time than of younger females. The losses of BOFFFFs have staggering affects as it is significantly important as a food source for us humans, harming the spawn cycle, and the impairment of the genetic structure of the population. With less and less of these fish, there won't be a lot of big ones anymore and most of them would be smaller. Thus, leading to a slow down of reproduction rates and disappearance of BOFFFFs and a big impact on human survival.
Reflection
I know that many of us from all over the world enjoy seafood but whats the fun if we are craving more of it in our diets and not bringing anything back to them. Consequently, we are ruthlessly doing the wrong things like killing them for entertainment purposes as "who can bring me the largest dead fish" and the intention for having them because its popular. This would lead to their extinction sooner than ever. We must start thinking of ways to conserve and preserve the BOFFFFs so that more and more can exist in water. There isn't an unlimited source of these organisms and that means we need to cut down in our fishing acts as much as possible in order to sustain the fish population in the near future.
